In 2021, I began my PhD Journey with hope and optimism. I hoped the learning would challenge me and spur me to become a better thinker.

I was optimistic about completing the program. My goal is to finish my dissertation and then find ways to use my knowledge to contribute to society, helping to disrupt colonial thinking, challenge white supremacy, and dismantle systems of discrimination and oppression. How can I use this degree to lead change?

Obtaining a doctorate has always been a lifetime goal that seemed more aspirational than inspirational, until I discovered Niagara.

The clear vision of the process, the pace of the program, and the work made the impossible attainable and relevant to my goals. The kindness and generosity of the professors accentuated this, enabling me to believe that I could not only dream it but also achieve it.
